Hi All,
I am trying to figure out external sharing. I have a library that has a folder with a subfolder (I know DON’T USE FOLDERS :)), but I want to share the subfolder with an external user.
I was able to share the folder and the person received the link to get to the folder, but she was denied access. I did not share the top level folder.
If I place a file in the subfolder and share the file, she has no issues getting the file via the link in the email.
My real question here is, is there a way to share a subfolder without all the top level folders?
If not that’s fine, I will instruct my users to only share files not folders.
TIA,
Joe
Hi, @jaylou18. Just curious on the steps you’ve done to implement this in your side.
I have a similar scenario and granting access to a specific sub-folder is a bit cumbersome when having to break inheritance and making sure that users will not see files from other folders.
Did you explore the option to create a separate library instead (as mentioned on the Support article from Beau) that can be accessed by external and internal users?
