For the company I currently work at, I am reviewing the possibility for Microsoft Teams as a file server hosted with Apps4Rent. This idea came to mind when we as a company want to say goodbye to the VPN. Now there are some things that I’d like to know like what are challenges that you can face when you are using Teams as a file server?
Or is it possible to do it with the state of Teams as of now?
What are the security risks involved?
What is the best way of managing the teams and the files? (We want to give as much freedom to the managers of the Teams as possible)
If you know some of this information I would like to hear more about it.
Regards,
Akshay Mane
Hi Akshay,
MS Teams is more a real time collaboration tool in the front end with other Office 365 workloads like groups, planner, one note, SharePoint(for files) integrated. If you are looking for a pure file store, you can go for SharePoint or Onedrive depending on the information architecture that your business needs.
