I have my file view set to tile in one of my libraries and would like to change the tile images. Right now they show either a gray screen/globe line drawing or the first slide of the powerpoint deck file. I would like to change them to a custom image I have saved on my hard drive. Can I do this and how do I do it? Any help would be much appreciated.

You would not be able to do that out of the box but you should create a custom app for that.
