Does anyone know how re-add the recent from quick launch to SharePoint online
I found lots to hide or remove it, but nothing to re-add it after it was deleted?

if a new folder is created in documents it will show in the quick launch?

Click on the Recent folder and select the Edit link. Within the Audience targeting option, enter your new Recent Items SharePoint group and click OK. When you navigate back to your site home page, the recent items will no longer appear.
