MY EX colleague created a workflow which has been not fully configured, each time we made any changes to the workflow and published it,  it created a new workflow. I removed the extra workflow and then realised that the whole process got messed.

The process starts steps the following steps:

1) user fills in the InfoPath form that contains a field ‘ready for approval’ if the answer is yes it will kick of the workflow, the system will send an email to the direct for approval and set the status as with director, and also creates a task item in the task list on SharePoint.

2)then the direct opens the email and click on the task list which show all his request for approval. then he clicks on the item to approve it.

now the issue is that the user is not relieving the email direct to him to say that you need to approve this, also the item is not being created in the task list, in other words nothing is working. im not good with workflows therefore im badly stuck, can someone help me?
