I am getting these error messages.

Both files are stored in the same document library on SharePoint 2013

I did a paste special into a PowerPoint slide linking to a chart in the Excel file.

I had both the PowerPoint and Excel file open at the time and tested to see if it worked. When I changed the data in the excel file it did in fact change the data in the PowerPoint slide.

I saved and closed both files. Then I went into the Excel file, made a change, saved and closed it to test if the data would change in the PowerPoint slide. When I opened the PowerPoint file I got the error messages and was not able to update the data. The data in the slide did not change to reflect the changes in the excel file.

Both files are stored in the same document library. However, they are both displayed differently. The Excel is displayed as an Excel Web Part and the PowerPoint is displayed in a Page Viewer. I don’t think it should make a difference how they are displayed cause the files are still in the library.

Is anyone able to help me with this? Thank you.

Tried “Edit Links to File” and got this error:

?width=750
