Hi all,
Within the SharePoint 2013 on-premises environment, you can receive emails in a document library and handle the attachments. I would like to get the same functionality online (without custom code).
It is not possible to send emails to a document library online.
Yes you can add a mailbox to a site but in fact it is a link to exchange from your site. And I didn’t find yet a way to extract attachments from exchange online into a document library.
Does anyone know a solution? Or a 3rd party tool that can do this?
Thanks, Jo
Hi Joe,
I hope you have found an adequate solution.
In case you are still in need of a solution you may wish to look at a 3rd party tool named SLIM Companion (www.slimapplications.com and here). This is a browser-based tool that allows users to upload Outlook msg files to Office 365 / SharePoint 2013 and then automatically extracts email metadata. It allows previewing of the msg files in the browser (plus link to the attachments) without opening Outlook.

Outlook SharePoint Integration is possible without any code but its not quite easy for end users to manage the solution
To Save Email Attachments to Office 365 with simple drag and drop you can try Outlook SharePoint plugin
I haven’t used any of these, but I found this list in a Google search of solutions to address the lack of email-enabled lists in Office 365: http://blog.pentalogic.net/2012/08/options-sharepoint-onlineemail-enabled-document-libraries-lists/
