I have run into an issue with not being able to save site templates after I added a site column that is a lookup from a BCS column. I was not aware that caused the option to save sites as templates are resulting in errors.
After searching I found out that even if I delete the site column am I still not able to save.
The site is in development and unfortunately are the backups not fully up to speed. So the option is either to fix or export content and redeploy the site.
I have read that it is possible to fix it if I edit the XML files that now are “corrupt” but it seems that is not supported by Microsoft.
My option now is to delete the SharePoint web application(running on port 80), the server is a SharePoint 2013 Enterprise.
I have searched for best practice how to redploy the web aapplication, the challenge is that I find several best practices.
I am open to suggestions.
