Hello

The environment is SP2010 with three App servers and three Wfe servers. Two of the App servers are running the crawl component.

The last couple of days a warning in the Event Log only on the one of the App servers i appearing:

“The server mysites…. is unavailable and could not be accessed. The server is probably disconnected from the network. Items from this server will be skipped by the crawl for the next 10 minutes”

I can acces the mysites via the browser from the Wfe, what could this issue be?

And, the other App server that also crawls does not prompt this issue in the Even Viewer.

It is my MySites web-app, I have done the;

DisableStrictNameChecking and the BackConnectionHostNames , but not the DisableLoopBackCheck, because I read that the other two i mention does the same job, but in a more secure way. Is it right?

It is a warning which is started to appear more often in the last days. I tried to search google, but not much help there. My thougts are, if it is a warning then it probably does not harm anything.

And yes I did check that my default crawl account does have read rights to the Web app.

If the site is not deleted as you mentioned you can browse then check “DisableLoopBackCheck” in registry and make sure it set to 1.
