Hello,
we are using the SP teamsites to develop engineering standards. it’s interesting to measure the contribution of every user in the development phase of standards.
The web analytics reports are limited to page views, unique daily visitors… and they don’t give clear insights on the user contributions.
so, is there any practices to evaluate user activities/engagement on SharePoint sites?
thanks in advance
Rachad
Hi Rachad,
Feel free to check out CardioLog Analytics. They are the only on-premises solution for SharePoint analytics, and offer a free edition also. If you would like a personal demo, I would be happy to assist you as well.
The basic Sharepoint analytics are not going to tell you too much. You can look at other a SharePoint specific tool such as Cardilog (http://www.intlock.com) or perhaps Google Analytics.
One way to evaluate is based on the tasks or goals that users have to do for those standards. Perhaps there is several steps, tasks or goals that will determine the final outcome in working to create your standards. It might be necessary to use analytics but you could use task based workflows to determine what users are doing and when. Similar to auditing but I would aim to keep it as simple as possible.
