I have a metadate column added that displays the full path of the terms (e.g. United States:New York:Bronx;). However, the customer wants just the tag term to show in the views but not the full path as in “Bronx;”. at the same time we want to leverage the full path to improve search.
is there any option maybe via powershell to achive this?

I’d consider creating separate child term sets, for example:
United StatesÂ
– New York
— Bronx
— Orange
– New Jersey
— Piscataway
— Union
