Lately I been checking out and experimenting with some PowerShell in SharePoint 2013 which could give a lot of capability to the SharePoint Administer. What I’ve come up with so far is:
- Being Able to produce visible labels for Web Applications instead of the helpful “SharePoint” on the Suite Branding Bar. Â (How often as an Admin or Developer have you not been on the right site in preforming some application. Â Ever been on “Production” Central Admin and thought you were on “Staging”?
- Insert Branding from PowerShell on the MasterPage. Â (Admittely this is more useful for the designer or developer working on their own virtual machine–since this affects all sites and subsite. Â If you’re a developer you may be only looking at one page.
- Insert JavaScript or jQuery Events live! Â Perhaps you could insert an event into all Master Pages on the fly to check some security feature or prevent someone from accessing the site. Â Currently I’m still at the “HelloW World” Stage of a document.ready() in jQuery.
Meantime I want SharePointers in this community to see what I’ve been looking at for inspiration:
