I am noticing a mismatch in Virtual Directories Port folders in all my installations.
The mismatch appears for Central Admin port number.
Refer the attached image:
Central Admin is configured on 5555, but it is missing under VirtualDirectories. Instead, I see 19978 as a port number.
Can someone explain this behavior.

I agree its confusing–but I’ve seen the same phenomenon on SP2007
I agree that after Web App is created, this behavior may be normal.
But I guess Web Application is created only after it takes some inputs from the Product Configuration Wizard. In the grey wizard, I provided Port 5555 for Central Admin, and was expecting it to create folder with port number 5555.
Hope I am correct with my understanding.
PS: here my issue is just related to Central Admin Port Number… I can see the normal behavior for the Web Applications that I create for Business users.
This is normal behavior. Â The VDir does not change once the Web Application is created, regardless of what you change (port number or hostname).
