Hi all
Just been chatting with Jasjit about the best way to integrate SPPower into the community. I believe Stefan is going to make it look the same as this by adding a CSS stylesheet which is cool!
So, this leads us to find solutions to following :
- Where do members who DON’T have an SPPower account go to ?
- Where do members who DO have an SPPower account go to ?
- Is there a slick way to make it all seamless (without using the Ning API) ? Single sign-on ?
- Is there way for a user (who has an SPPower account), to click a link and automatically be take straight into their site collection ?
- Do we just stick an “SPPower” menu item on the nav ?
- Can we get the signup form (for SPPower) into an IFrame on here ?
Any thoughts ?
If we get this spot on, it will make the community VERY compelling.

I am currently looking into how we could check that SPPower members need to be NING members.
Somehow like, you have to be logged in and provide you profile page.
Then we check, if it is your profile (which differs i.e. because it has the “My Likes” button) and we could scrape out the display name and fill it into the SPPower form.
Really some hack, but without having access to the NING API, I see not many other options.
I will try out if I can get it as an iFrame and definitely we should have a fat SPPower button somewhere to feature it!
