A customer of mine can’t pick “Link to a document” when trying to add a new list content type. It’s there as a site content type, but just can’t be picked – any ideas ?

maybe a WFE only has parts of it. .. that would be a symptom of a grander problem
I will double check though, because its the only reasonable explanation, unless they deleted the content type.

I can’t repro it. But to get backgruond, they are following steps on here : http://www.collaboris.com/blogs/collaboris-blog/policy-management/2013/04/03/use-a-link-to-a-document-in-place-of-an-real-document-in-sharepoint but when they get to bit where they are adding to the list, its now showing up.
Anyway, don’t worry about it. I will continue to dig around.
