Hello community!
This seems to be a popular question on the MSDN & O365 forums, so I’m curious to get your input. Email-enabled doc libs (EEDL for brevity) aren’t available in SPO (seemingly because of the Exchange/AD stuff that SP on-prem does), so I’m curious to know:
- Do any of your customers care? Have you had anyone explicitly say ‘I can’t move to SPO because of EEDL?’
- Have you ever used one of the (few) alternatives?
- If you’ve used EEDLs before, either built-in or with one of the alternatives, what did you like? What didn’t you like?
I’m currently working on bringing email-enabled document libraries to SharePoint Online through a SharePoint app & we should be to beta state by next week. Is anyone interested in beta testing?
So this is *way* late, but we’ve finally gotten v1 released. So many other things going on (and this was outside the ‘core’), but it’s finally in the store.

Thanks Ryan! I’ve seen that post before – from what I could tell, there are very few options for O365 currently. I’m hoping to get a beta out this week (we’ve got a different app going through approval right now & it is…an experience). I’ll get a link out as soon as it’s ready.

We do not have any customers at the moment requesting this feature but I presume this Will chance with the latest Update ón SharePoint Online. It container massive improvements – and actually I do not know if the Site Mailbox and EEDL is Working nok… If not, Them this app Will be Munch appreciated 🙂
