I have a document library that contains multiple content types and is stored as a template at the top level of the site collection. In turn this template is added to a site in the collection. The ability to set “column default values” (in advanced settings for the library) seems dependent on some underlying condition I can’t figure out. Sometimes I can set the content type field (to a content type associated with the library) and sometimes it errors.
Does anybody have perspective?
