I am running a SharePoint Server on my mac on VM that was moved to a new server. Upon starting, the SharePoint Server works, but if I need to run the configuration utility, it fails with an error message. What may be the reason for this?
You can also check the root cause for the error in the log file that is stored at the 15/16 hive based on your SP version. You should have received an error message something like this “To diagnose the problem, review the extended error information located atÂ
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\16\LOGS\PSCDiagnostics_3_1_2018_6_66_35_751_1223580233.log” which is the log file. If you are doing an upgrade then the log file name should look something like “Upgrade20170101-234587-error.log”.
Can you provide the error message for us? It will be extremely hard to help you without knowing what the error is.
