As a current architect / developer of SharePoint 2010 as a part of my day-to-day work, I’m very excited of the upcoming features on all Microsoft products, benefitting users, developers and stake-holders.
Windows Server 2012 and SharePoint 2013 along with SQL Server 2012 has been released for a while now. Since these are the latest technology on the Microsoft stack of products I’m working on, I decided to use all these 3 products, and use it for daily development, and learning. It’s amazing how products and technology is changing at a faster rate. At the time I’m writing this blog, SQL Server 2014 is already on CTP1.
So I’ve decided to delve into a multi part step- by step tutorial on setting up a development environment for SharePoint.
In this multi part feature, I’d cover, setting up Windows Server 2012, as the underlying OS, fine-tuning and configuring the O.S to your needs, installing the SQL Server 2012 as the database.
Then I’d further go into installing and configuring SharePoint 2013 for development, installing Visual Studio 2012 for development tools.
