Just a quick discussion to see whether you are intending to study and sit for one of the Microsoft SharePoint 2013 exams ?
If so, when and how are you intending to learn ?
Here is a presentation with a summary of the 2013 certifications & the changes from 2010, along with some resource links. Sharepoint 2013 Certification Review
Hi Mark,
Like we discussed in the chat room today (love the chat btw), I am planning on getting certified in 2013. I don’t have any other certs right now and figure that 2013 is a good well rounded overview. I would rather do 2010 since it’s less exams and more to the version I will most likely be working with for the foreseeable future, but since 2013 is out, I don’t really see going backwards as a good option.  I guess I will be going for the MCSE first and then see what’s next from there. I don’t plan on going the DEV route since i am not a developer, but it would be interesting to learn the material and know the basics.

If you got for the IT Pro Path = MCSE SharePoint 2013.
First of all, you need to get familiar with what runs under SharePoint… which is Windows Server 2012. Â So your first step would be to pass the 3 required exams for MCSA Windows Server 2012.Â
Afterwards, you jump into the SharePoint stuff, which are exams 70-331 and 70-332.
My background is in website design/development. relational database design (with FileMaker Pro and Access) and Office products. I am not a programmer, but I do develop solutions OOTB and with SharePoint Designer. Â I also have a Master’s degree in IT in Network Architecture and Design. Â Have been working with SharePoint 2007 since 2008.Â
I’ve never considered myself a developer, but I would claim the title of IT Pro.
You can do both, I do. It’s a lot of learning, but I look at it as a career not a job. My students keep me fresh I also am allowed with my job to do a good amount of consulting which helps.
