Hi All,
I have uploaded staff handbook onto a library and will like users to sign off by clicking accept or reject button on a message box displayed whenever they open the file.
My challenge is that there is know option to trigger workflow when an item is open in sharepoint designer 2010.
I need help to make this happen.
Regards,
Bisi.
Is this an acknowledgement that the user has read the document and accepts it (i.e. something like Terms of Use, License Agreement, etc?) DocRead does this:Â https://www.collaboris.com/products/policy-and-procedure-management-software
You can update the outcomes in a task/approval process to be accept and reject which doesn’t involve any superior. Â There is not an OOTB way to have a workflow start when the file is opened.
If you start the workflow on the file itself and assign accept/reject tasks to everyone the email they receive will include a link to the document and also a link to the accept/reject task that they perform.
Thank you Drew,
First of all, it is not an approval process. So we do not need any superior to approve it
In addition, manual intervention is exactly what we dont want to be doing.
We want the workflow to trigger once the file is opened, open a message box to users to accept or decline, then send email based on the button clicked.
You could create a workflow that creates approval tasks all of the users you want to have sign off and then manually start the workflow on the document.
