Greetings Sharepoint experts. This is my first post so forgive me if I could find the answer somewhere else. I hve searched the blogs/discussions and haven’t found what I’m look for.
I’m a new SP user. A while back a team I am on built a library with a basic folder structure with many subfolders that contain files. That makes it difficult to find the file you need, which is often the one most recently modified. I discovered I could modify the view to show all files in all folders in a continuous list. Then I could sort on mod date. But I cannot find a way to add a column that would identify the folder where the file is housed. The group wants to maintain the folder structure and that makes it difficult t know where to replace documents after you modify them. I’d appreciate any guidance.
Thanks
FrankP
There is a column that will do this, but it is hidden from the UI. You will need to use PowerShell to add it to your list. The internal name of the column is FileDirRef.
