Hello to everybody, i’m a little stuck on configuring a Sharepoint 2013 development environment on this new company that i’m just start to work for, and my doubt is if, for this development environment they will need a full (comercial) licence or what type of licence they can use (they don’t have any kind of MSDN subscription). Any one can help  me on that? Thanks in advance!
Thanks Matthew, i agree with you about the grey area. I will try to call MS support (its not easy) for that. Thanks!
Thanks a lot vlad. I will sugest to then to buy a MSDN subscription. Thanks!
Hmm, this is such a grey area. Technet licenses are sooooooooo much cheaper but if you start reading the fine print you get into this “wording thing” about what is a demo vs. development vs. testing, etc. So I don’t have an answer for you, but I think people do whatever in a lot of cases. I guess you should ask how long this dev environment is going to exist for and how often it will be used and search MSFT support forum.
For Development, I highly suggests they buy a MSDN subscription ;). Â It will come out really cheaper. Â You can also call your Microsoft Account Manager that sold you the SP Production licenses and he might be able to help. Â Licensing is a whole different monster.Â
