I want to create an Attendance Management System for my company’s Intranet Portal,in which employees can daily enter Time In, Time out and the Total working hours for the day should be calculated automatically.
I am open with any more ideas on how to implement an Attendance Management System.

You can have Calender list to show attendance of the employee.
Your calendar list will contain 2 extra columns
1) Sign in time
2) sign out time
You need to custom sign in and sign out page. Add the value of sign in time to calender list when employee login and update the value of sign out time when logout.
