Today I had an issue while doing a backup. My backup tries to backup the search service application but it uses an old name. I have deleted this service application a while ago and then I created a new one with a different name.
IT shows up with the old name if I do backup-spfarm -showtree but it is displayed correctly if I look in the service application list in the central adminitration console.
If I do a get-spserviceapplication I get the new name.
Any idea where the issue comes from?
did you try to clear the config cache on the servers ?
Hi, It looks like the old name of the search service application shows up only in backup tree.
It is not visible anywhere else.
Could this be related to your default service apps possibly?
See in Central Admin. Application Management –> Web Applications –> Manage Web Applications.
Select a web app ( you may need to review all)
Select the “Service Connections” from the ribbon. Make sure that your new Search Service app is selected and not the old.
