I am trying to create a simple basic search center in my team site in sharepoint 2010.
I have a team site which is a subsite, my site doesn’t have a subsite itself, and I need to create a search interface to search documents uniquely in the libraries of my team site. I was trying to create the basic search center and expected that basic search center after creation and permission assignment to display at least the search box . I created the center going to site action / site setting/sites and work space in site administration/ create. But the search center page come with search box where to type the search keyword.
- Do I need to add the search box myself as a webpart in the main page of that basic search center? or the behavior is normal?
- What should I do to have a search interface out of the box that allow to search only in libraries of my team site? I am member of the sites owner and I am new to SharePoint, I don’t have access to the server and can’t use SharePoint designer.
Any help on how to go for a search center in the team site on SharePoint 2010 will be very appreciated.
