Hello all,
My company is planning in migrating from sharepoint 2007 to sharepoint 2013. Can anyone please provide me the major differences happening after migrating to sharepoint 2013.
I know we dont have design view in sharepoint 2013
Hotspots are not allowed in 2013
What are the changes are there when compared to 2007 into 2013 with regards to workflows and infopath.
We have a lot of workflows and infopath in sharepoint 2007. Not sure how this will effect in sharepoint 2013
Your helpful will be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot
I have also just migrated from Moss 2007 to a free SharePoint 2013 site with http://www.cloudappsportal.com. The following social technet url helped me with my doubts: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/sharepoint/en-US/f2f8d786-44d6-49bf-bd73-7762dda278c2/compre-fetaure-moss-2007-to-sharepoint-2013. Even this is good http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sanjaynarang/archive/2013/01/20/sharepoint-2013-2010-2007-feature-comparison.aspx
Thanks Robin for the quick response. My major problem is I have workflow and infopath in 2007 and we are planning to migrate to 2013. Can you suggest which will be the best plan to do so. Which version will be well suited. Or should I try with a 3rd party migration tool like Share-gate or so?
Your answers will be helpful for my analysis
Thanks
Mohammed
We just completed implementation of a SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013 upgrade/migration.
None of the forms/workflows we had in 2007 would work ‘as is’ in SharePoint 2013. All of our forms were updated in InfoPath 2013. We opted to go with SP2010 version workflows (as for 2013 you have to have the Workflow Service set up on a separate server and there are some options that don’t seem to exist in 2013 that do in 2010).
Designing workflows in SPD2013 takes a little getting used to the interface if you been working with 2007. However there are additional workflow options that work nicely.
You do not have the Design View in SPD in 2013; however, a lot of things you used to need SPD to do in 2007, can be through the GUI in 2013 (themes/etc.) THere’s lots of excellent information available from Heather Solomon and the folks at The SharePoint Experience on branding/css/responsive design for 2013.
If I can answer specific question for you, let me know. Am happy to do so
-Robin.
