Here is a question from a Microsoft Webinar about SkyDrive Pro and SharePoint Governance:
¿Can you audit what users are placing in their SkyDrive Pro drives globally, like you can in an NTFS/physical drive world?
For example: We would generally be able to run reports that would show large files users have put on their home drives, and easily identify ‘misuse’ of the system (without the need for blocking file extensions, etc.)
¿Is there an option on SP 2013 (On-Premise / Online) that show us what kind of files the users are placing in their space, so we can track it down and make reports about them?
You can’t do it with SharePoint Online (I tried, I asked Microsoft, I learned it can’t be done at the moment), that much I can say.
It is a Site Collection-level setting. You would need to enable it on each SC, or use a PowerShell script/3rd party solution to do so. Note that SCAs can disable auditing.
And this SharePoint auditing can be done activating a feature, or you have to go for every enabled SD Pro space for every user?
You can do standard SharePoint auditing for access control, but that won’t cover things like file sizes (Axceler ControlPoint should, I’d imagine).
