Hi sharepoint people just wondering if anyone has any links or advice on set up apps in sharepoint 2013 without adding any DNS entries. Is this even possible

Your only option is to add an entry into each host file , to each computer that will acces the apps with. It needs to be a wildcard so check this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20446930/how-to-put-wildcard-entry-into-etc-hosts
I would wait the 2 weeks to do it properly.
