Does anybody know of (have experience working with) any correspondence management system built on sharepoint?
I need a (kind of) Ad-hoc correspondence system for my company. Basically these are general correspondence between departments but they need to be tracked and archived.

Thanks for introducing DocRead. I will definitely look into the product. Let me explain a bit more about my requirement. I need to document and store important ad-hoc requests that happen between departments.
For example, Audit Department might as for Finance for some reports or information. They will request it through the “correspondence system”. When a request is placed, automatically, a reference number is generated, the request is routed to the responsible person. Lets say one of the accountant completes the reports and attaches it to the correspondence and returns it to Auditing team. Once, Audit is happy with the report, they say the “correspondence” is complete. Once a correspondence is complete, the documents, email attachments etc are moved into archive ( Records Management? ) library.
I don’t know if such systems are already available.. Or I have to build it up on SharePoint.
