Hi, all –
Is it possible to created a link in SharePoint to access a document stored external to SharePoint (and to the internet, for that matter)? It’s possible we could provide a location on our intranet system if that would be required.
I have seen some things online about linking between libraries but that’s about it.
Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.

Found a bit more. If your data is in blob storage you can definitely use BCS to surface documents. MSDN has a How-to. I actually think you might be able to use the same techniques to access other locations, but not 100% on that.
