Hi to all, recently web had a crash on a SQL Server here that one of the instances serves the SharePoint 2013 Development of the company here. After a new server was build (with a new network name) and the entire SharePoint databases was recovery from backup a used SQL Alias to reconnect the farm to the SharePoint databases. But i’m very unsecured if this is the correct method to do this, if in the future any problem won’t arise causing me more problems than doing the correct thing right now. I read the article from technet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc512725.aspx but looks to me that at some point it leads me to do what i did (SQL Alias).
Please any help if this is the correct way to deal with this will be very welcome.

Using a SQL Alias is the right approach in this case. If you followed the instructions in that TechNet article, you should be good.
Note that it is best practice to setup a SQL Alias for SharePoint from the beginning (when you are installing SharePoint). However, setting up an alias down the line doesn’t hurt, in my view.
