Does anyone know if Document Conversions Launcher / Document Conversions Load Balancer services are deprecated in SP2013?

I’ve just been told this by a colleague. My understanding is they are still fully live and supported, alongside the Word Automation, PowerPoint conversion services etc which are not replacements for DCLB/DCLS.

This TechNet article indicated (almost in passing) that these services are “obsoleted” in SP2013…

But I can find no formal statement about this. Anyone know the definitive position?
