I am using SharePoint 365 and I keep getting this “To save to the server, correct the invalid or missing required properties when saving documents” error. To get this, I go to “Documents” and it doesn’t matter if its a file in the root directory, or a sub-folder, but when I open up a file (i.e. word or excel file) the file will open and at the top of the document, I get a yellow bar showing the above mentioned error. If I click on “Edit Properties” a side panel shows up displaying a “form” that I have created for my team SharePoint site with some fields marked as required. I have done a ton of searching and the only thing that I keep finding is to do the “Inspect Document” method to fix this issue, and I can say that it doesn’t work in this case.
I want to keep this from ever happening again. How can I do that? In case it matters, “Documents” has been set to use “Modern” view by the company I work for.
Thank you for any help that can be given for this.
Chanakya,
Im assuming you meant Go to Library Settings ? I do have that template format. Since I am using the stock “Documents” library, my URL is
Shared Documents/Forms/template.dotx Just for further verification, I went to the Documents library where I have all of my files/documents and the link in the browser does say “Shared%20Documents” so that’s, correct. When I click “edit template, it opens up word with a blank page and produces the same error.

Will it not show the image i inserted?
