Hello,
I’m confused between assigning external user as guest, or as visitor to access to site folders to view and upload docs, can someone please highlight the differences? Thanks
A visitor is generally a group in your SharePoint site with limited permissions. Essentially they can read content that they have been given access to.
A guest is a user that doesn’t have an account in your tenant. That is, you share content with a user that logs into your SharePoint environment with a domain name that isn’t equal to yours. When you do this, they become “external users” a.k.a “guests” in your environment.
Thanks for your reply,
but also I can add external user under visitor group, that doesn’t have tenant account.
