I just got a “RTFM” response in the SharePoint-Community.net.
A couple of links would have been more helpful.
With so many versions of SharePoint, Online, On-premise, so many patches, updates–sometimes it’s hard to know where to look.
I appreciate your support that sometime you have to risk asking a “dumb” question or just stay in ignorance.
The hardest thing in technology is to admit that you don’t know.

I absolutely agree with Vlad and Andre about this point. Don’t give up, because of this specific case. I found SharePoint community really helpful, especially on my first steps in SP world. A lot of people are ready to help. So, you don’t have to give up if some of them said RTFM.
SP is a really huge platform and there are a lot of different areas in SP development/administration. A thing which could be obvious for a pro who works with this specific area, could be absolutely confusing for other people. Even if they are experts in other areas of SP. So, don’t give up and don’t stop asking.
I believe the case with RTFM answer was an rare exception and usualy community really helps you out!
