I got the following message when I tried to use SharePoint designer 2010: “Microsoft SharePoint designer cannot be used to edit web sites on servers different from SharePoint Server 2010…”
We have not received any message that we have been migrated. So as far as I am concerned we are still on 2010. If you click on the url in the message you are advised to download and use SPD 2013.
Is that a wise decision to follow up?
Are we now on 2013? Microsoft didn’t inform us. How can we know? Front end still is 2010.
Any ideas / suggestions are more than welcome!
I checked it with this command added to our site url: /_vti_pvt/service.cnf
I see the options, but it ain’t working yet in full. We are definitely on release 15 without Microsoft noticing us, and apparently you! And others.
Who is on the new version yet? Check it with the command and let us know. Maybe we can persuade Microsoft to inform us in the future…….
This is what we currently get if with click on Site Collection Upgrade… Not sure why this is the case though ?

We have been upgraded, but haven’t done the “Site Collection Upgrade” (as it’s not allowed yet).
Anyway when we try to open Designer (via Site Actions) we get this :Â
