Anyone had this problem before?

I have a list in SharePoint 2013. I have dates and times in it that I’m able to present in a great Calendar View. However, i want to choose a different colour for the item on the calendar based on the value of one of the items in the column. I believe this is done using Calendar overlays.

Dr Google is telling me to go to the Ribbon, click the calendar tab and then click calendar overlays….but the option isn’t there for me.

Might I be missing a feature somewhere in the site settings or just going about it the wrong way?
