I am trying to open a link from navigation but it only works when I right click and open in new tab. The links are to take you to subsites and the search page for other communication sites. An example of which is below:

The links that are supposed to open in same tab is something you cant change using configuration. You may need to inject some javascript and update the links to open in a new tab.
