I have a scenario that I’m pretty new with so I need you guys’ understanding.
-
I have a Picture Library called Cool Animals which obviously contains photos of animals.
-
I then created a web part page using Header, Footer, 3 Columns template, added a Picture Library Slideshow Web Part that pulled photos from Cool Animals Pic Library and added a Content Editor Web Part for to put a title at the top called Cool Animals shown below:
The problem is that even when I added the web part to the middle of the zone, it is still displaying the pictures to the far left. I want it to display the picture slideshow in the middle directly below the Cool Animals title. I have checked and it seems that CSS is the answer but I have never executed a task such as tampering with a web part’s CSS. I’m a Site Owner in this case and need help in how to access the web part’s CSS, make changes, and save those changes back to the site. Any help would be appreciated.

Understood. But then how would I go about centering the slideshow web part? I have suggested what Tracy has proposed bu my client is set on using a web part page. Even if I put the web part in the center of the zone after I stop making Edits it then displays the web part to the far left. Please advise.
You could change the title of the picture slideshow web part to be “Cool Animals” and set the chrome type to Title Only for the picture slideshow web part. Â Then you don’t need a separate web part just for the title.
You will no longer need the Content Editor Web Part, because when you use a Wiki page instead of a Web Part page, the entire page IS a content editor. You will only need to insert your Slide Show web part onto the page, then center it.
Thanks Tracy,
Â
With that being said, if I change it to a Wiki type will I be able to use the slideshow for a hyper link using the content editor web part?
For additional information please see screenshot below of my original intent:
Based on the above the original task was to use a CEWP (Cool Links) and create a hyperlink, in this case Animal Photos, that would direct the user to the animal slideshow. Will the Wiki page work in the same fashion?
I would change the page to a Wiki type page so that you have more control over the positioning. The web part pages are not flexible at all. With a Wiki page you can use the Rich Editor on the ribbon to left justify, right justify, or center justify an artifact.
