I want to change the column width of a List in SharePoint Online. I have tried to do it with a script but it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

I am not sure if you are using modern or classic sites but for classic you could create a JSLink overlay, although this is a per view thing which requires programming. If you are on modern sites for SP Online, you could try JSON column formatting and see if you could add HTML attributes (although I have not tried this), I was able to change the colors of the cells and things with it though so thinking maybe you could control the width also.

Why do you need to this? Only asking as there maybe another solution such as amending to the List’s View.
