As SharePoint Online could only hold 5000 items in a list, i would like to know
how can i override this limitation.
Well, when handling data and on top of that revisions of data the 5000 threshold tends to jump up and hit you in the face sooner than expected, even when starting out with a small population.
Use Folders to save list items. it will help you out.
Probably, the better question would be “Why would you need 5000+ items in SharePoint online at all?’. Actually, it seems you have a bigger problem rather than just “500 limit’, and you WOULD HAVE a bigger problem even if you could change the “5000+’ limit in SharePoint Online.
So, one more time, why would one need more than 5000 item in SharePoint Online?
Does “As SharePoint Online could only hold 5000 items in a list, i would like to know” clear enough to indicate pointless referring to SharePoint 2013 software boundaries?

For SharePoint online the list view threshold is not modifiable (can’t have lists larger than 5000). You can modify this with SharePoint on-premises, but not O365.
