Good Morning;
My first question to the community. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Is there a way in SharePoint 2013 that I could restrict the options of site types for users to only the Team Site template?
I don’t believe there is a way to make this change in one area (other than editing files in the SP Hive..which I do not recommend). I don’t believe there is a setting in Central Admin. You could use PowerShell like the script discussed here to apply it to all SharePoint subsites (SPWebs): http://geekswithblogs.net/bjackett/archive/2014/03/04/powershell-script-to-limit-sharepoint-2010-or-2013-site-templates.aspx
Wow so simple yet I never realized. Thanks for your quick reply! I wonder if there is a global setting, in Central Admin perhaps?
Good Morning Kevin,
There is a section in site settings to lock this down. In the site that you want to use/lock down templates select “Site Settings” from the “Site Actions” menu (Or the Site Settings “Gear” if this is 2013. Select “Page layouts and site templates” from the “Look and Feel” section. I attached a screenshot of what this page looks like
