We having a problem with reliably saving edited Word documents to SharePoint Online. One of our primary editors will open a Word document from SharePoint, select to edit using his computer version of Word 2010 (because Word Online doesn’t track changes (!)) and when he clicks on the Save button, he gets an error on a yellow band at the top of the screen that says “Upload Failed” and then requires him so save a new copy to save the changes.
This problem is intermittent, yet happens enough for our SharePoint process and multiple user editing be more complicated than it should be at SharePoint. We spent hours with Microsoft Tech Support today and found the experience frustrating and not very helpful.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, your help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Again, we are using SharePoint Online and Word 2010 from the computer (not through Office 365) for editing.
