Hi guys! I need your help.
I was trying to publish a SP Designer workflow (2010 version) on a SharePoint Online Site. Nothing fancy, just an approval process and an email to the user who created the document inside a document set.
In the approval process, you can customize the InfoPath form of the approval task. I did it and save it in my computer, and later I published it to the site, but it worked only the first time. After that, it constantly shows me an error “Unknown error. The form template was published on the server, but it can be opened in InfoPath Filler.” and it bugs me a lot, because I found a lot of forums with solutions, but those are for on-premises solutions, not online solutions.
Any idea what should I check to solve this?
Thank you!
P.S.: It’s an A3 (Education) Office 365 tenant.
Ok, I found a way to do this:
- You can enter to SP Designer, go to All files -> Workflows, -> Your Workflow, select and export the desired .xsn to your computer.
- Once downloaded, open it in Design mode and make the changes you want.
- Click Save and InfoPath asks you to publish the form in order to save it successfully.
- Click Publish button and voila! Your form is now updated and published on your SP Online Site.
I guess it works on OnPremises SharePoint too. But if you have problems with SP Online workflows, this is the way you have to solve this problem.
Hope it helps you in another time!
