Okay, so here’s where I’m at. Sometimes I feel like working with our SharePoint Server 2010 is like that song “There’s a Hole in my Bucket”.
I need to create some customized upload forms, and to edit custom ones we are currently using. I found that using SP Designer 2010 is tedious for doing this, and when I was training on SP I used InfoPath. So, I activated our SharePoint Enterprise features, I get the message that the upgrade from SharePoint Server Standard was successful, but when I go to use InfoPath… didn’t have it.
So! Installed Office Professional Plus to get InfoPath Designer and Filler (cheaper than the standalone, whatever Microsoft…), go to customize the form… I get the error that I need SharePoint Server 2010 with InfoPath services enabled. Okay….
So! Enable it, go to my Central Administration, but when I go to InfoPath Forms Services and click on “Manage form templates” I get a “File Not Found” error. *facepalm* No problem, right? So I go to my Configuration Wizard to set up the service… blank. My Configuration Wizards page is blank, nothing on it. I am logged in as the farm administrator and the administrator of the server, nothing. I have tried different browsers, nada. I have tried at the server and remotely, zip.
There’s a hole in my bucket… I’ll start with the blank configuration page. Any ideas….?
Just to update, though it doesn’t look like anyone has any ideas. I re-ran my SharePoint configuration utility with complete success, still no configuration wizards, still “file not found” error when I try to configure Infopath services. I guess I can just give up and figure out how to configure the state service with Powershell. I’ll let everyone know how I made out, if anyone cares.
