I am debating going this year (for the first time). Went to loads of the old SharePoint Conferences and loved them. Few questions:
- Does it have good coverage for SharePoint and Office 365?
- Where’s the best place to stop? AirBnb / hotel?
- Are you going?
You should go. I’ve gone to the last two, and am going this year as well. It has loads of coverage on most products (though some people have been disappointed with the cloud-first focus). The expo hall lets you talk to a whole lot of vendors, as well as Microsoft employees for pretty much any product you want.
Not only that, the networking opportunities (along with the parties) are pretty great.
As for lodging, I’m staying in a hotel this year, since I was able to get a nice rate, but I would typically recommend AirBnb. You tend to get more bang for your buck.
Downsides: People don’t like the lunch options, though I didn’t have too many complaints, and there should be other places to eat near. Also, it will be super crowded, and can be hard to get into the sessions you want. It is wise to schedule and map everything out, and then get to them early.
That being said, I spend most of my time in the expo hall networking and learning things on my own, and only go to the sessions that I really want to see. They all end up online after the fact anyway.
