Hi,
As you know in Windows Server we cannot open up a document library using “Open With Explorer”. Does anybody know that is it possible to map a Document library or a SharePoint site as a network drive in Windows Server?
Unfortunately I don’t have access to Win Server so I can’t test it 🙁
Thanks in advance
Yes it is. Or at least it is working on my Windows Servers. Grab the URL that will take you to the library (easily accessible from your address bar or in the list\library settings). Then open Windows Explorer, click on Tools -> Map Network Drive. Select your drive letter and paste in the web URL of the library or the site. You will likely be prompted to login, but once it completes it will display the site as a mapped drive with all the lists, libraries, folders and documents.
I tested this for both a library and a site before typing it and it worked fine in my Windows Server 2008 R2 environment.
