This is a really interesting find by group member Mark Wilson (@Planetwilson).
“The organisation responsible for policing the UK cookie law has just announced that they will stop asking users for permission to set cookies on their own website.”

Now the question is, will you stop asking for permission to use Cookies ?
This is nothing new as lots of sites have been doing this since the cookie law came into play. The whole point of the law is make users aware of the cookies and type of cookies used on the site. Providing an opt-out rather than opt-in is still in keeping with the law as it stands.
As long as you notify they user the sites uses cookies
Give them a way to opt-out
Explain the cookies in use
One of the main reasons for doing this is for analytics.
