Is there a way to use SP 2010’s REST API to pull list items from a VIEW on a list?

I am unable to find any clear answers in documentation or any examples of pulling list items from a view on a list. Is this possible? I am looking to use a client-side approach, so REST, or web services, or CSOM will do.

Oh, and I should mention that this is for using directly in a content editor webpart…just so I’m being clear (javascript).
